Here is a very simple definition. A Protestant church is considered to be any Christian church that is not Catholic. A Pentecostal Church is considered to be any Christian church that believes and practices the infilling or baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit. The name Pentecostal came because of what happened on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2. By this simple definition a Pentecostal church is a Protestant church that believes and practices the teachings of the New Testament that include the last teaching of Jesus before He ascended into heaven. They also believe and allow for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to be manifested according to the teaching of the New Testament.
