The bible tells us that “we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10. God has a plan and a purpose for every life and each one of us is important to Him. Primarily we are to live our life to worship and honor God. Our words and actions should always glorify God. Every person has a unique S.H.A.P.E. that determines how God has created them. S=spiritual gifts, H=your heart what you love to do, A=abilities, your special talent, P= personality, some are reserve, some are outgoing, E= experiences, things that have helped to form you into who you are. God uses all of these things that have helped to SHAPE you for the good works He has prepared for you. God’s plan for you is best seen by how He has SHAPED you.
Which do I believe, science or the Bible? Science says the earth took millions of years to evolve but the Bible says it was created in six days.
True-science and the bible actually agree. The problem is where you begin as your reference point. If you take the bible as the inspired Word of God it is very simple to match that with the “science “ that is available. When God first created the world and all that was within it, does it not say that He made all the animals, all the vegetation, everything on the earth. For example God created a fully mature tree but if you start with a world view absent from God you will say that tree had to grow from a seed. I believe that an all-powerful God did just what He said. He spoke all that was created into existence. If God can make a mature tree appear during creation, why can’t He make a mature earth appear.
Why can’t I break this addiction? I am a Christian, I am a true believer but I have this addiction that I just can’t seem to break.
There are many Christians just like yourself who face the same problem. Spiritually you have been born again but physically you are still a slave to this addiction. The Bible talks about the need for us as believers to put off the old man and to put on the new. This is talking about our conduct, our mindset, our way of walking through life. There are times when we need to realize that the enemy of our soul has a foothold in the way we think, which affect the way we live. James 3:15 calls this kind of thinking demonic. Until this demonic thinking is addressed it is very difficult to break an addiction. This month at New Hope Church I am sharing a series on Freedom & Deliverance. You are welcome to come and check us out.
Finding and attending a good church is one of the most important things a person can do for their own spiritual health. The most important thing to look for in a church would be does the church teach and practice that the only way of salvation, the only way to heaven is through repentance and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. If you miss this nothing else matters. Following closely behind is does the church hold the Bible as the inspired Word of God. If they use any other writings or books and hold them as being as the same authority as the Bible, keep looking. If the church supports immoral sexual behavior expressly addressed in the Bible, keep looking. A good church will encourage you to learn and grow in love toward God and man.
