Both of these list of fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit are the result of the Spirit of God working in and through the life of believers. The fruit of the Spirit is the result or the fruit of the Holy Spirit producing these characteristics in a life that is yielded to Him. The gifts of the Spirit is God supernaturally giving ability to bless, serve or to manifest His presence. Gifts differ from the fruit as they are not the result of spiritual maturity so much as they are God granting these gifts to whom He desires to accomplish what He wants to accomplish. These gifts are given not for the benefit of the individual but for the profit of all.
