Is it right for Christians to be in favor of building a wall on our Mexican border?

I would ask why are we even considering the need for a wall. The truth is that thousands of people are coming into the USA illegally. Billions of dollars of illegal drugs are coming into our country. I lock my doors at night to keep people from illegally entering my home. The building of a wall would help to stop this illegal activity from taking place. God sent Nehemiah back to Jerusalem to rebuild the wall around the city. The enemies around them did not want the wall built. Nehemiah encouraged those building the wall to
“Remember the Lord…and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives and your houses.”
The building of the wall is for our protection. Those who want to come into our nation, into our house, must get permission first. Those in favor of building the wall are just trying to protect their home from illegal people doing illegal things. Those who want to come legally are welcome.

Life can be pretty overwhelming at times. Pressure from expectations at work, from family and even personal expectations can cause us to loose sight from what is really important. Much of what causes stress in our life is not at all God's plan or desire for us. I encourage you to get on track by first getting yourself centered right in the middle of God's presence. Read Jeremiah 29:11-13 and realize that God knows where you are, what you are facing and that He has a plan for your future and hope for your tomorrow. God promises that if you will seek Him with all your heart that you will find Him. Walking daily with God will keep you on track to having a better life.

There is New Hope for the new year. We are encouraged in Romans 12:2 to “not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” At New Hope Community Church we are discovering the importance of seeking God’s presence which brings a transformation and a renewing of your mind. Having a renewed mind enables a person to find New Hope and when that New Hope includes a fresh encounter with God it is going to be a better year. Discover what God has in store for you and you will find New Hope for the New Year.
