It is now a new year and how many times in the last few days have you said or heard, “Happy New Year”? The ending of one year and the beginning of another is really just a different date on the calendar, but it often causes us to reflect on where we have been and where we hope to be heading.
I believe that no matter who you are or where you have been in life that the Lord has a plan and a purpose for your life. One of my favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
This tells me that the Lord is thinking about you. He desires you to have peace, to have a future, to have hope. The verses that come next talk about how to position yourself to see the thoughts, the plans of the Lord happen in your life. When we will call upon the Lord, He will listen. When we seek Him, when we desire to really know Him, the Lord says that we will find Him.
As you look at this new year that awaits why not begin it by seeking to know and find out God’s plan and purpose for your life. The best place to start is by praying and getting back into a good church that teaches the Bible as the Word of God.
There are many good solid Bible believing churches in our community. Each one may have a different style of worship service and format but what really matters is the Lord Jesus Christ lifted up as God’s only plan for salvation.
Here at New Hope Community Church we are very determined to emphasize the importance of having a relationship with the Lord over having a religion. Religion can not save you, give you a real peace or future or hope. All that the Lord wants for you comes by and through Jesus Christ.
“A New Beginning” comes when you are willing to accept by faith that God has a plan and a purpose for your life. That plan, that purpose can only happen if you will accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
