Communion, Eucharist, breaking of bread all of these are different names for basically the same practice of sharing a meal or bread and drink together as believers. Usually in a church setting there will be a small wafer or piece of bread and juice used to do this. Jesus told us to talk this bread and drink this cup in remembrance of Me. Communion is a time when as believers we take these emblems of the shed blood and broken body of our Savior and remember what sacrifice was made for our salvation. We are to remember the Lord's death and also that He is going to return again. Communion is a time for self examination and dedication to our Lord and Savior and to the local body of believers which is called the body of Christ.
