“that is what some of you were” Those words mean that all these wrongs use to be a part of your life but now when you accept Christ you are seen as washed, set apart and now just before God. Those who continue to live in those wrong lifestyles will not inherit the kingdom of God.
The short answer is that one is going against the Biblical teaching and one is holding true to God’s Word. “Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

According to the Bible which is God’s Word “Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.: 1 John 3:4. When Jesus was asked what was the greatest commandment His answer was “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ Matthew 22:36. No man is innocent, no one can say that they have never broken God’s law. Every person has at some time disobeyed, gone against the law, the commandments of God and so we have all sinned. That is why we need a Savior. “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23. First I want to say that I am so sorry for your lost. Losing a loved one at any age is not easy. When a person dies due to sickness, disease or by accidental death it is not an easy thing to experience. Death, sickness was not God’s plan for man. All of that came into the world because of sin. The Devil’s desire is to steal, kill and destroy everything that God has made. At the present time we live in a sin cursed world. The day is coming when all those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ will see a world where all death, sickness and evil is forever gone. God’s plan is to redeem the world but the devil’s plan is to destroy God’s creation. |
