I don’t think I have never been asked this question. One of the hardest things would be seeing people not make a decision to have a personal relationship with God or seeing those who make that decision but never really pursue it in their life. When I see people struggle with guilt, with wounded hearts, family problems, with addictions, finances and yet they won’t follow God’s plan it is hard. Jesus said that He came so that we might have an abundant life but so many are missing it. As a pastor I am responsible to spiritually protect, feed and guide people so that they will come to know Christ. It is really hard to see people striving to make a living and not enjoying life.

Let me answer this by saying that the Jehovah Witness (JW) differ greatly from the major beliefs of most evangelical Christian churches. Here are just a few major differences: (JW) have their own bible and writings they claim have the same authority as the Bible. (JW) claim that Jesus Christ is not God in the flesh but a creation of God. (JW) teach that Jesus’ body did not rise from the dead. (JW) claim that only 144,000 will go to heaven to rule with Christ. These differences are contrary to sound Christian teaching. The Bible alone is the inspired word of God. Jesus Christ is God and not a creation of God. The bodily resurrection of Christ is central to the Christian faith. Every believer who has accepted Christ as Lord and Savior will go to heaven. To have a better walk requires a solid foundation. Let me give you three keys to establishing a solid spiritual foundation that will improve your walk with God. -Read-Study-Mediate on God’s Word the Bible. Reading just 20 minutes a day will take you through the bible in one year. The bible is not just another book. It is the inspired word of God. The word of God will give you a foundation based on truth. -Prayer. Talking with God daily will renew and transform your mind. Spending a quiet time with God gives Him an opportunity to guide, instruct and comfort you in this busy world. -Fellowship. This is when you get with, hang out with others who desire to also have a better walk with God. Regular attendance at church, Sunday School, a small group of people who you develop relationship with and who together are walking with you on this journey. Check out our web site for the series Four Habits For a Healthy New Year. I have found that a lot of my good days and bad days depend upon my attitude. Try starting every day by quoting this verse from God’s Word. Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” When you acknowledge that this is a day that God has given you and you determine to rejoice in it, you will find that day is a better day. Do that for a week and you have a good week. Do that for four weeks and you have had a good month. Try that for the next 12 months and you might discover that 2017 has been a better year. |
